Asuncion goes 3-for-5 to Power Mangos Offense
|
Benefiting from Jose Asuncion's productive game, the Kingston Mangos downed the Kennesaw Jets, 9-2. Asuncion was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He scored 3 times and drove in 3 for the Mangos. Jorge Bigro picked up the win with 6 innings of work. He allowed 2 earned runs on 4 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 6. On the season, he is now 5-3. Getting the save was Keith Stinson, his 4th.
It could have been a different outcome for Kingston, had it not been for Rodger Parsons, the 20-year old first baseman . Parsons contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the first inning to put Kingston up, 2-0.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Parsons said.
Kennesaw has now lost 4 consecutive games.
