Riding the 3-hit performance of the 20-year old first baseman Desi Liñares, the Alameda Airmen stopped the Yucca Valley Yellows, 8-0. Stanford Thompson picked up the win with 7 innings of work. He allowed no earned runs on 3 hits, while walking 0 and striking out 10. On the season, he is now 5-3. Alameda goes to 27-29, Yucca Valley to 45-11.
The Airmen grabbed the lead in the bottom of the seventh. With one out, Héctor Heredice hit a grand slam home run off Rick Baker, putting Alameda in front, 7-0. For Heredice, it was his 3rd home run of the season.
"We did more than enough to get the win," said Heredice.
