The first-place Yucca Valley Yellows picked up another win at Ballpark of Yucca Valley.
The Yucca Valley Yellows picked up a win at Ballpark of Yucca Valley, knocking off the Athletic Club KC U-24, 4-2. Starting pitcher George Crane was an essential part of his team's success. Crane, the winner, moves to 3-1. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 4 walks. Danny Kas picked up the save for Yucca Valley, his 7th of the year.
Claudio Corona put Yucca Valley in front, 2-1, when he took Yun-tae Yi downtown. His 2-run home run came with one out in the bottom of the third. It was his 1st home run of the season.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Yucca Valley manager Christian O'Dell.
The Yellows boast a remarkable 37-9 record.
