The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles had to overcome a big game from Springfield left fielder Bartolo Tasis to leave Springfield Stadium with a 8-7 victory. Tasis went 2-4 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Mike Barraza, credited with the win, is now 3-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2.1 innings. The winning streak has now reached 6 games for Mercer Island.

Mercer Island used a timely hit from Brian Drake to get the win. The catcher delivered a bases-clearing triple in the top of the ninth inning to put the Screaming Eagles on top, 8-7. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Drake.
