Victory Over Coeur Takes Hollywood to 64-37
|
The Hollywood Shredders got a stellar performance from pitcher Cullen Taylor, who handcuffed the St. Louis offense en route to a 3-1 win at The BFIB. In 6 innings, Taylor surrendered 1 hit, while striking out 3 and walking 2. He allowed no runs. Binjimen Victor got the save, his 19th in 21 chances.
Hollywood used the timely hitting of Ramón Rodríguez to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the first inning to put the Shredders on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I'm proud to wear a Hollywood jersey," Rodríguez told the Hollywood Bulletin. "We played a good game and came out with the win. What more can you ask for?"
The Shredders have an impressive 64-37 record.
