With left fielder Yoshiki Shimizu leading the charge, the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles defeated the Ithaca Fighting Imps, 9-5, at Imps Park. Shimizu, who is tied for 3rd in the PAA in stolen bases with 16, went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Phil Day was the winning pitcher. Over 6 innings, he allowed 5 runs on 7 hits, with no walks and 11 strikeouts. At 28-21, the Screaming Eagles find themselves in 4th place in the Premier AA.

Shimizu came through with some timely hitting for Mercer Island. With the score 1-0 in the top of the fourth and one down, Shimizu hit a 1-0 fastball for a 3-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season made it 4-0, Mercer Island.
