Tight Tilt Goes to Fighting Imps, 2-1
The Ithaca Fighting Imps eked out a 2-1 win versus the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks at Thunder Hawks Ballpark. Nobody did more than pitcher Luis Matos, who captured player of the game honors. The save was credited to Jimmy Whitney, his 4th. With the win, Ithaca goes to 15-32, while the Thunder Hawks fall to 27-20.

Ithaca used the timely hitting of Carlos Valle to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put the Fighting Imps on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"It was just a matter of executing," said Ithaca manager Lou Boone.
