Miralles Goes Wild, But Jets Win
|
Kingston catcher Jorge Miralles had a good game, even if his team did not. The Mangos dropped a 9-7 decision to Kennesaw at Jets Stadium. Miralles went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. Sean Boyd, credited with the win, is now 2-0. He allowed no runs on 3 hits in 3.2 innings. José Correa earned the save for Kennesaw, his 1st of the year.
The Jets grabbed the lead in the bottom of the second. With one out, Seung-jae Kyong hit a grand slam home run off Coyote Peterson, putting Kennesaw in front, 7-1. For Kyong, it was his 2nd home run of the season.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Kennesaw manager John Sirica.
Kennesaw goes to 18-16, Kingston to 20-14.
