Ko Hits 2 home runs in Blimps Win
|
The Akron Blimps topped the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks by the score of 7-5, with the biggest share of the credit going to left fielder Ju-ho Ko. Ko was 2-4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for the Blimps on the day. Fredrick Shive picked up the win, improving his season record to 1-0. He struck out 3 in 6 innings. Picking up the save was Ramón Sánchez, his 1st.
The game hit a turning point in the bottom of the third inning, when the Blimps were trailing 3-2. Alohinani Puanani delivered a two-out 2-run double for Akron, catapulting his team into the lead.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Puanani said.
Akron, now 17-16, holds 6th place in the Premier AA.
