Juan Lugo made an impact in the 8-5 Mercer Island win over Springfield. Lugo, who leads the PAA in stolen bases with 13, went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. The winner was Luke Corner in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Zhi-qiang Ku took the loss. Mercer Island, at 16-14, sits in 5th place in the Premier AA.

The result might have been different for Mercer Island, had it not been for Chut-sai Meng, the 22-year old second baseman . Meng stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the 11th inning to put Mercer Island up, 8-5. For the game, he had 1 double and 1 single in 6 at-bats.
