The Westwood Sixshooters got a stellar effort from pitcher Joop Els, helping Westwood score a 4-2 win over the visiting Crescent City Krewe. Els, the winner, moves to 2-1. He threw 8 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 3 and giving up no walks. Manny Rodríguez earned the save, his 8th, for the Sixshooters.

Illarion Podmarkov, who is tied for 3rd in the PAA in RBI with 20, aided the Westwood cause with a run-scoring double in the bottom of the third. For the game, the second baseman was 2 for 5 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.

"Joop's tempo and rhythm were good," said Sixshooters manager Juan Gusmán. "He was the key to us winning."

With the win, Westwood has a record of 13-12. Crescent City falls to 15-10.
