Screaming Eagles Clip Sixshooters in Tight Contest
|
Mercer Island turned a good effort from starter Dawson Randolph into a win over the Westwood Sixshooters at Sixshooters Stadium. The final score was 3-2. Randolph got the win, improving to 2-0. He allowed 5 hits and walked 2 over 8 innings. Randolph allowed 2 earned runs. The Sixshooters drop to 10-10 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2042 season.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd and one out in the top of the eighth inning. That's when right fielder Yoshiki Shimizu, who is rated as the 37th best prospect by BNN, reached on an error by the 3B. The Screaming Eagles went on to win.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Shimizu told a Mercer Island Herald reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
