Thunder Hawks Drop Sixshooters with Late Score
|
The Westwood Sixshooters got a superb performance from pitcher Jurg Roozen. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Ft. Polk South. The Thunder Hawks won the game, 4-3. In spite of the loss, Roozen was named the player of the game. He threw 5 innings of shutout ball. With their winning streak at 4, the Thunder Hawks have raced to a strong start this season.
Ft. Polk South won the game in the bottom of the ninth inning. With no outs and Manny Rodríguez on the mound for Westwood, center fielder Tim Carson hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Thunder Hawks fans to their feet.
Carson told a Ft. Polk South Observer reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
