Thunder Hawks Win, Mastenbroek drives in 3 runs
|
The Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks bested the Akron Blimps by a score of 10-8, with right fielder Remco Mastenbroek getting the main credit. On the day, Mastenbroek was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3 for the Thunder Hawks. Ft. Polk South reliever Sean Kennedy picked up the win to move to 1-0. Oakland Scanlan suffered the loss. The save went to Mark Brunswick, his 1st this season.
Ft. Polk South took a 9-8 lead on Mastenbroek's 2nd home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which he hit off Oakland Scanlan in the bottom of the sixth, propelled Ft. Polk South to the win.
"I felt good up there," said Mastenbroek. "I saw the ball well."
With the win, Ft. Polk South pushes its record to 7-5.
