The Springfield Shooters defeated the Akron Blimps, 12-6, at Springfield Stadium. Springfield first baseman Joey Terry was named player of the game for his superb performance. He went 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Springfield starter Ron Jordan was credited with the win after throwing 85 pitches over 5 innings. His record now stands at 1-0. With the win, Springfield improves its record to 4-4.

Terry had a big at-bat with a runner on 3rd in the bottom of the first inning, when he hit a 2-run home run. The Shooters went on to win.
