Storm Hope Win Turns Around Slow Start
|
Syracuse played host to Idaho Falls at the friendly confines of Storm Park.
Syracuse Storm starter Jimmy Evans was definitely locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Idaho Falls Chukars, 3-1. Evans got the win, improving to 2-1. He allowed 7 hits and walked 2 over 7 innings. Evans allowed 1 earned run. Jorge Leyva earned the save for Syracuse, his 2nd of the year.
One of the key players for the Storm was left fielder Francisco Romero, who drilled a single in the bottom of the third inning. For the game, Romero went 2 for 3 with a triple and a walk. He drove in 2 runs.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Syracuse manager Ismael González said.
Syracuse, now 5-10, is off to a slow start.
