Mariachis Get Close Win Over Blimps
The Mariachis grabbed a win, 6-4, at Mariachi Band Shell, overcoming a fine effort from Akron pitcher Michael Ramsey. Ramsey went 6 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Nuevo Mexico reliever Cakaraka Subramanya picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Ramón Sánchez was saddled with the loss. The win gives the Mariachis a record of 1-2.

Albert Porter took Ramón Sánchez deep in the bottom of the eighth. His 3-run home run put the Mariachis on top, 6-4. In all, Porter had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Porter said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
