Fans brought energy and enthusiasm to the Nuevo Mexico Mariachis home opener. Sean Murphy started for the home team against Randy Ryan for the Akron Blimps. The Mariachis were unable to reward the home crowd with a win. The final score was 4-0, Akron. Randy Ryan was named player of the game.

Ryan's performance can only be described as masterful. He notched 7 strikeouts in 6 innings while allowing no hits. Ryan goes to 1-0 on the year with 7 strikeouts.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Ryan told the Akron Times.
