The Biloxi Shuckers overcame a good performance by Casper right fielder Izaak Gerkis to knock off Casper, 7-6, at The Graveyard. Gerkis went 2-5 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Luis Valdés converted his 15th save in 20 tries. Biloxi is now 47-43.

The result might have been different for Biloxi, had it not been for Pablo Morterero, the 21-year old catcher . Morterero stroked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put Biloxi up, 2-0. For the game, he had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"We'll enjoy this win," said Morterero. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
