Pilgrims Come Up Short at Tacoma
|
The Providence Pilgrims got a superb performance from third baseman Chris Hall. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Tacoma. The Fur Traders won the game, 5-4. In spite of the loss, Hall was named the player of the game. He went 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs. José Espinosa picked up the win, improving his season record to 2-4. He struck out 3 in 5.2 innings. Ricky Mina locked down his 12th save.
The Fur Traders got a big at-bat from designated hitter Ezequiel Viana. For the game, Viana went 2 for 4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run double. His 7th double of the season gave Tacoma a 2-0 lead.
"It was a good effort all around," said Viana.
At 27-61, the Fur Traders find themselves in 9th place in the Silver AA.
