Virginia Beach and Tacoma engaged in a slugfest at Ballpark of Tacoma.

Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Dan Pike, the Virginia Beach Whales defeated the Tacoma Fur Traders, 16-10. Pike went 2-4 with 2 home runs and 2 walks, while adding 6 RBI and scoring twice for the Whales. Reliever Vincent Moreau picked up the win. His record improves to 2-1. Pascal Durand took the loss.

Pike put Virginia Beach up, 9-3, when he hit a grand slam home run off Pie-qi Gao in the top of the fifth. His 9th home run of the season helped the Whales capture the win.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Pike told the Virginia Beach Times.

Virginia Beach has now won 3 straight, while the Fur Traders have lost 3 in a row.
