Ottawa Nationals starter Arthur Stevenson pitched a strong game against the Lancaster Farmers at Farmers Field, leading the Nationals to a 3-2 win. Stevenson, now 4-0, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 5, walking 2, and allowing 1 earned run. Stu Searle locked down his 6th save.
Ottawa used a timely hit from Nobuhiko Ohayashi to get the win. The center fielder delivered a run-scoring triple in the top of the second inning to put the Nationals on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Ottawa manager Fernando Gonzáles said.
Even with the win, the Nationals have a dismal 22-53 record.
