Costanzo Miniato never let Providence get something going. The Biloxi right-hander commanded his circle change in pitching the Shuckers to a 6-1 win. In 6 innings, Miniato surrendered 2 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 2. He allowed no runs. Luis Valdés, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 10th save.
Biloxi used the clutch hitting of Pablo Morterero to capture the win. The catcher drilled a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to give the Shuckers the lead, 3-0. For the game, Morterero had 1 single and 2 doubles in 4 at-bats.
"I felt we were ready to go," said Biloxi manager Chua-kah Liu. "Our pregame was pretty good."
At 34-37, the Shuckers find themselves in 6th place in the Silver AA.
