Fur Traders Continue Skid Thanks to Bendt, Saboteurs
|
The 2042 season is getting ugly for Tacoma.
The Toledo Saboteurs beat the Tacoma Fur Traders, 9-4, at Toledo Backyard Park. The Saboteurs got a fine performance from right fielder Niek Bendt, who captured player of the game honors. He belted 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 4. Pat Jarvis, credited with the win, is now 5-0. He allowed no runs on 3 hits in 3 innings. Jim Harris notched his 15th save in 15 chances.
Bendt had a key at-bat for Toledo early in the game. With a runner on 2nd, he hit a 2-run home run. It was his 14th home run of the season and gave Toledo an early 2-0 lead.
"We played hard and won," said Bendt. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
The last-place Fur Traders have dropped 6 straight games.
