Ottawa and Tacoma duked it out at Ballpark of Tacoma and the Nationals came out victorious.
The Ottawa Nationals scored a 3-2 win versus the Tacoma Fur Traders at Ballpark of Tacoma. Ottawa left fielder Nobuhiko Ohayashi nabbed top player honors in the tight contest. Stu Searle picked up the save for Ottawa, his 5th of the year.
Ohayashi contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Ottawa in the top of the second. With his team trailing 1-0, Ohayashi took a curveball from Félix Benítez and stroked the home run to left. His 4th home run of the season allowed the Nationals to leap in front, 3-1.
"We take it day by day here," said Ohayashi, "and today was a good one for us."
Ottawa is now 20-45, Tacoma 20-45.
