Nationals Fall Short at Tacoma
|
The Tacoma Fur Traders defeated the Ottawa Nationals, 5-4, at Ballpark of Tacoma. Tacoma first baseman Hori Ikenaki was named player of the game for his superb performance. He went 2-4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The Fur Traders now have a record of 20-44.
Manuel Acosta was the walk-off hero for Tacoma. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Fur Traders designated hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring double to send the teams home.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Ikenaki told a Tacoma Herald reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
