MacKinder Excels in Virginia Beach Win

In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.
Daniel MacKinder knocked in 4 runs to help Virginia Beach beat Ottawa, 10-7. The right fielder collected 2 singles, 1 double, and 1 home run. Virginia Beach reliever Vincent Moreau picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-1. Pei Fa was collared with the loss. Martin Rumbolt picked up the save for Virginia Beach, his 7th of the year.
Had MacKinder not come through in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have changed. Instead, with two down, MacKinder hit a 3-run home run. The Whales never looked back after taking the 8-7 lead.
MacKinder told a Virginia Beach Times reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
The Whales bumped their record to 33-24 with this latest triumph.
