Thunder Shut Out Whales
|
St. Petersburg Thunder starter Bhagavan Antle turned in a top-notch performance against the Virginia Beach Whales at Rapiers Ballpark. The result was a win for the Thunder, 4-0. Antle, now 6-4, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 4, walking 1, and allowing no earned runs. Benny Berry earned the save for St. Petersburg, his 7th.
St. Petersburg left fielder Caspar Fewings contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a slider into right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 72nd hit of the season and put the Thunder ahead, 2-0.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Fewings told the St. Petersburg Herald.
The Thunder have an impressive 33-21 record.
