Virginia Beach Whales starter Remco Mansvelt was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Lancaster Farmers, 4-1. The win was credited to Javier Iturburua in relief. His record improves to 2-0. John Jamieson took the loss. Getting the save was Martin Rumbolt, his 2nd.

Had Daniel MacKinder not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, MacKinder hit a bases-clearing double. That made the score 4-1, in favor of the Whales.

"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Mansvelt told the Virginia Beach Times.

The Whales bumped their record to 26-22 with this latest triumph.
