Nationals Deal Saboteurs Painful Loss
|
The Ottawa Nationals topped the Toledo Saboteurs, 5-4, with designated hitter Tony McMillan playing a big role. McMillan was 3 for 5 with 3 singles and a walk for the Nationals in the win. Ottawa reliever Travis Conklin picked up the win, upping his record to 4-5. Robert Young absorbed the loss. With the win over Toledo, the Nationals improved to 11-35.
McMillan had a game-changing single in the bottom of the 11th. On a first pitch cutter from Robert Young, he banged a run-scoring single to right-center, giving the Nationals a 5-4 lead. It was the 44th hit of the year for McMillan.
"What we get, we earn," McMillan told the Ottawa Daily News.
