Matsumoto goes 3-for-4 to Power Evergreens Offense
The 2042 season is getting ugly for New Orleans.

The Portland Evergreens defeated the New Orleans Voodoo, 7-0, at Evergreen Park. Portland first baseman Tetsu Matsumoto was named player of the game for his superb performance. He went 3-4 with a home run, a triple, and a walk, while adding 6 RBI and scoring once. Robert Smalls, the winner, improved to 4-5. He held the Voodoo to no earned runs on 4 hits over 8.2 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 4.

With Portland leading 1-0 in the bottom of the fifth, Matsumoto hit a fastball from Rainer Polonius for a 2-run home run. It was his 33rd home run of the season and put the Evergreens ahead, 3-0.

"I like our moxie," said Evergreens manager Brandon Slouck.

The losing streak for New Orleans has now reached 4 games.
