Pilgrims Prevail, 4-2, Over Lancaster
|
The Providence Pilgrims stopped the Lancaster Farmers, 4-2, at Farmers Field. The Pilgrims got a big game from Carlos González, who was 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The winner was Bill Aylwin, who threw 102 pitches over 8 innings. The left-hander was charged with 2 runs on 6 hits. Phat Tra nailed down his 1st save.
In the top of the first, González pounced on a 0-1 splitter from John Jamieson and hit a grand slam home run. It put Providence on top, 4-0.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," González told the Providence Daily News.
Their 18-25 record puts the Pilgrims 8th in the Silver AA.
