The Pizza Oven was the site of a competitive game between the Biloxi Shuckers and Toledo Saboteurs.
Starting pitcher Hakumele Apelama pitched well enough to help the Toledo Saboteurs beat the Biloxi Shuckers by the score of 5-3. Apelama, now 2-0, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 4, walking 2, and allowing 3 earned runs. Jim Harris got the save, the 9th for him this season.
Toledo used the clutch hitting of Ron Ficco to capture the win. The second baseman drilled a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to give the Saboteurs the lead, 2-0. For the game, Ficco had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more,'" Ficco told the Toledo Daily. "You win just by scoring more runs."
The Saboteurs, at 20-16, sit in 5th place in the Silver AA.
