Shuckers Prevail, 8-6, Over Toledo
|
Shuckers second baseman Raúl Yánez put his stamp on his team's 8-6 win over the Toledo Saboteurs. Yánez went 4-4 with a double and 3 singles. He scored 2 runs for Biloxi in the contest. Costanzo Miniato got the win, improving to 3-2. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 5 hits and 5 runs, while striking out 4 and walking 3. Luis Valdés recorded his 4th save for Biloxi.
Guan-xiu Long dealt the Saboteurs a blow in the bottom of the second. Batting with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Biloxi leading 5-0, Long, who is tied for 10th in the SAA with a .418 on-base percentage, hit a first pitch slider for a 2-run single.
Yánez told a Biloxi Daily News reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
Biloxi has now won 5 in a row.
