Polar Bears Bang Out 8-6 Win Versus Asheville
|
The Billings Polar Bears topped the Asheville Highlanders, 8-6, in M3L Double A action at Asheville Park. The player of the game was Billings right fielder Jorge Cruz. The win was credited to Steve Perkins in relief. His record improves to 3-2. Matt Buck took the loss. Darrel Parker notched his 2nd save in 2 chances.
It could have been a different outcome for Billings, had it not been for Gary Panniers, the 23-year old shortstop . Panniers contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the seventh inning to put Billings up, 8-6.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Panniers.
The losing streak for Asheville has now reached 8 games.
