Irving third baseman Bob Hill was a significant contributor in his team's 5-2 triumph over the Squirrel Hill Pierogis. He went 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for Irving. Irving reliever Kevin Moran picked up the win to move to 5-7. Rusty Davis suffered the loss. Christopher Tracy earned his 21st save in 24 chances.
In the first inning, Hill had a 2-run home run for Irving. It was his 20th home run of the season and put the Blue Sox on top, 3-0.
"We've got guys willing to do what it takes to win," Hill told the Irving News.
The Blue Sox improve their record to 48-54 with the win over Squirrel Hill.
