The Lake Minnetonka Love Boats beat the Richland Rails, 9-5, at Rails Ballpark. The Love Boats got a fine performance from first baseman Francisco Obando, who captured player of the game honors. He belted 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. The first-place Love Boats, at 65-35, now lead their division by 6 games.

Obando had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a first pitch fastball from Donnie Ash, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Love Boats a 7-5 lead. It was the 9th home run of the year for Obando.

"Baseball is about momentum," said Obando, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
