Charleston shortstop Alfonso López made his presence felt in the 4-1 Battery triumph over the Hollywood Shredders. López was 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The Battery saw their record improve to 44-40.

With Charleston leading 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth, López hit a fastball from Matthew Fallows for a solo home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Battery ahead, 3-1.

"We made a couple of mistakes," said Hollywood skipper Bill Cheese, "and it cost us."
