Hops Fall to Polar Bears, 6-3
|
Yakima catcher Richard Beagle had a good game, even if his team did not. The Hops dropped a 6-3 decision to Billings at Hops Park. Beagle went 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The winner was Michael Rice in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Logan Barker took the loss. The win puts the Polar Bears at 41-49, while the Hops drop to 45-45.
Billings used the timely hitting of Rupert Bethune to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Polar Bears on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We'll savor this win," Bethune told the Billings Bulletin, "then get ready for the next game."
