Loss Extends Boston Losing Streak
|
The Boston Patriots got a sterling performance from pitcher Alberto López, but the Rainbow Mermaids still prevailed, 5-2. López was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 5 innings of 4-hit ball. This loss makes it 6 in a row for Boston.
Sherman Kline had a big run-scoring double for the Rainbow Mermaids in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Northern Virginia leading 3-2 and a runner on 1st, he got a cutter from Alberto López and stroked the double to right. It was his 4th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Rainbow Mermaids ahead, 4-2.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Kline.
