Victory Pushes Rails Record to 52-36
|
The Richland Rails picked up a win at Rails Ballpark, knocking off the Minnesota Loons, 3-1. On the mound for Richland was right-hander Poom Saksansin, who played a pivotal role in the win. Saksansin went 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 1, and struck out 7. His record improves to 9-4. The Rails bumped their record to 52-36 with this latest triumph.
Cheng-ho Bu had a big run-scoring double for the Rails in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Richland leading 2-1 and a runner on 2nd, he got a fastball from Voitto Niskakangas and stroked the double to right-center. It was his 12th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Rails ahead, 3-1.
"Poom was throwing free and easy," said Richland manager Fernando Mendoza.
