The Kingston Mangos took Alameda pitcher Stanford Thompson's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Alameda Field. The final score had Kingston getting past the Airmen, 5-1. Thompson went 5.2 innings and allowed no earned runs, striking out 7. Kingston reliever Keith Stinson picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-0. José Juárez was collared with the loss. With the win, Kingston elevates its record to 4-2.

Kingston used the clutch hitting of Kung Wa to capture the win. The catcher drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Mangos ahead, 4-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.

In comments to the Kingston Herald, Wa admitted he's been told to improve his work habits. "But," he said, "I know when to take it to another gear."
