Pierogis Come Up Short at Richland

Poom Saksansin pitched a gem to lead Richland to a 2-1 victory over the Squirrel Hill Pierogis. The winning pitcher was Saksansin, now 8-4. He tossed 6.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 2. The Rails improve their record to 50-34 with the win over Squirrel Hill.
Making an impact for the home team was Javier Botín. In the bottom of the fourth, the 26-year old shortstop had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. That made the score 2-0, Rails.
"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Saksansin.
