Rankin Helps Marquette Cruise to 10-2 Win
Miners designated hitter Roland Rankin put his stamp on his team's 10-2 win over the Asheville Highlanders. Rankin went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4 for Marquette in the contest. The Miners raised their record to 42-36.

With Marquette leading 6-0 in the bottom of the second, Rankin came up to bat against Asheville pitcher Jesús Gordini. Rankin hit a cutter to left for a grand slam home run. His 2nd home run of the season put the Miners on top, 10-0.

"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Rankin.
