Polar Bears Turn Back Bethesda, 4-2
|
The Billings Polar Bears defeated the Bethesda Atoms, 4-2, at The Igloo. Billings right fielder Jorge Cruz was named player of the game for his superb performance. He was 3-3 with 3 singles and a walk. Vas Atepko picked up the save, his 7th. With the win, the Polar Bears improved to 36-41.
Stanley Bell, the Billings left fielder, contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth inning to make the score 3-1, Polar Bears. For the game, Bell went 1 for 4.
After the game, Billings manager Marvin Nelson applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
