Atoms Roll to 12-3 Win Over Rails
Richland got a terrific performance from right fielder Ricardo Águila, but it wasn't enough to beat the Bethesda Atoms. Bethesda won the Atoms Field contest, 12-3. Águila was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Zhenya Gospodyni got the win, improving to 4-1. He worked 6 innings, giving up 3 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 3. The Atoms are now 34-39, while the Rails fall to 42-31.

Scipione Borghese had a big run-scoring single for the Atoms in the bottom of the first inning. With Bethesda leading 2-1 and the bases loaded, he got a sinker from Nicolaas Eland and stroked the single to left. It was his 64th hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Atoms ahead, 3-1.

"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Borghese told the Bethesda Observer.
