Podell Dazzles in Richland Win
|
A nice crowd turned out to see the Richland Rails and Billings Polar Bears clash at The Igloo.
Billings had no answer for Richland Rails hurler Gary Podell, who overwhelmed Polar Bears hitters as the Rails coasted to a 6-1 victory. Richland, now 42-30, holds third place in the Menard's AA.
Podell scattered 4 hits over 8.1 innings for the Rails. With the win, Podell goes to 5-1 on the year with 69 strikeouts.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Rails manager Fernando Mendoza, "I like our chances."
