Highlanders Get Win, Extend Streak to 4
|
The Asheville Highlanders defeated the Irving Blue Sox, 6-2, at Blue Sox Ballpark. Asheville first baseman Koryusai Maejima was named player of the game for his superb performance. He went 3-5 with 2 doubles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The winner was Asheville reliever Jesús Gordini, now 3-1. The loser was King Joseph. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for Asheville.
The Highlanders got a big at-bat from second baseman Wendell Palmer. For the game, Palmer was 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the second, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Asheville a 2-0 lead.
