Victory Pushes Rails Record to 30-23
|
The Richland Rails topped the Bethesda Atoms, 3-2, in M3L Double A action at Rails Ballpark. The player of the game was Richland pitcher and Houston, Texas native Gary Podell. Podell, now 2-1, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing 2 earned runs. Artie Bates earned the save, his 6th.
Richland grabbed control in the bottom of the sixth. With two out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Greg Ge delivered a 3-run home run, to make it 3-0 in favor of the Rails.
"I just trusted my stuff," said Podell.
Richland is now riding a 3-game win streak.
