Miners Walk Off with Win

The Marquette Miners downed the Barton Springs Blues, 5-4, at Marquette Stadium. The Miners were led by Bill Knight, who captured player of the game honors. He was 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs. The second-place Miners have won 5 straight.
Knight had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the ninth. On a 2-2 fastball from Ralph Dunn, he banged a solo home run to right, giving the Miners a 5-4 lead. It was the 8th home run of the year for Knight.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Knight. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
